Work with an AI assistant

Let an assistant help with a defined piece of work while you choose its access and review the outcome.

Start with a clear question

A connected assistant can help inspect the company information its access allows, summarize operational work, and prepare a next step. Some connections also offer specific editing, creation, or reporting actions. Ask the assistant to check what is available in your current connection before relying on an action.

You may hear this connection called MCP: it is a shared way for an AI assistant to work with an app using the access you approve. The guided setup handles the connection details.

A useful first request is small: list the open operational tasks for one client and explain what is due next. You can compare the answer with the workspace before allowing changes.

Read the agreements attached to a quote

With Quotes viewing access, an assistant can read the agreement versions attached to a specific quote revision, including saved text and external agreement links. It can also read the quote’s published or accepted special provisions. It does not need access to the full agreement library.

An externally hosted agreement may have a link without saved text. The assistant should open that link with its browsing or document tools and distinguish the current page from a preserved acceptance-time copy. A preserved document without readable text is reported separately; it does not mean the agreement is missing or the connection needs resetting.

Choose your assistant

The setup wizard offers ChatGPT, Claude, Hermes, OpenClaw, and Other. Each choice uses an agencyos setup prompt that you paste into your assistant. The assistant handles its own connection requirements.

These choices are setup paths, not a promise that every client version supports every action. Complete authenticated access verification with your own assistant, then verify the specific task you plan to use.

Keep control of the work

  • Choose the company, areas, level of access, and duration in agencyos.
  • Use viewing access for a first check. Editing access is needed for supported changes.
  • Ask for an exact proposal and approve it before the assistant changes records.
  • Check saved results in the workspace. A confident answer is not proof of a completed action.
  • Finance & accounting access can allow available record reads and reviewed invoice actions. With editing access to both Finance & accounting and Clients, an assistant can also link a verified existing accounting customer to a client after you approve the exact match. This affects client invoice visibility; it does not create a customer, replace a different link, or change billing. Billing configuration, payroll, money movement, general deletion and owner administration remain outside these assistant workflows.

Treat delivery as a separate decision

Report sharing and sending require their own access and explicit instructions. Permission to edit ordinary records does not authorize publishing, sharing, sending, or changing account connections. The recipes in this guide stop before those actions.

Match the help to the work

Use this as a guide to what to check in your connection. Availability depends on the released product, your role, approved access, and the actions your assistant can actually use. These examples have not been verified across every assistant or account. Ask for a small read-only check first.
