Turn bookings into sales follow-ups
Review how selected booking types create opportunities and put guest answers in the right place.
4 min readChoose which bookings belong in your pipeline
You need your own connected booking service, selected booking types, and permission to manage sales rules. The connection owner manages that connection in Integrations. Select only the booking types that should create sales work.
Each selected booking type has its own rule. Review its defaults before enabling automation so a new booking starts with the correct owner and context.
Review and save a booking rule
- Open Settings → Automations & integrations.
- Find the intended booking type and confirm the connected service.
- Under Start the opportunity, review the default values, owner, and next step against your agency’s process.
- Under Put booking answers in the right place, choose the guest detail or booking question for each field. Match question text to the actual booking form.
- Review Automation enabled and select Save booking rule when you intend that rule to run.
- Reopen the rule to confirm the saved choices. After an authorized test booking or the next expected booking, check the resulting opportunity and activity in Sales pipeline.
Check the result before relying on it
Confirm the company and contact, assigned owner, source, and follow-up on the resulting opportunity. A saved rule shows your intended setup; it does not by itself prove a booking was received or processed.
Default commercial values are starting information for the opportunity. They are not customer approval, a signed agreement, or collected payment.
If a rule or opportunity is missing
No booking types selected means you need to review the booking connection and its selected types in Integrations. If rules are temporarily unavailable, use Try again; that does not change the saved rule settings.
For missing or incorrect opportunity details, compare the actual booking answers with the saved field choices. Check for an existing opportunity and review Alerts for a related problem. If bookings are not creating opportunities, confirm the booking directly with the service and handle the needed follow-up in Sales pipeline while the connection owner investigates. A saved or enabled rule is not confirmation that automation is running.
