Get back to work
Check the common causes of missing records, unavailable controls, and failed saves.
4 min readA record or page looks empty
An empty result, a permission problem, and a failed connection are different outcomes. Read the page’s status before concluding that data is missing.
- Confirm the current company and account.
- Clear search and filters, check the date range, and include closed items when relevant.
- For connected data, confirm the selected account, calendar, mailbox, or sender.
- Check for a warning about unavailable or older data, then use the page’s refresh action.
- Ask an owner or admin to confirm access if a known record is still unavailable.
A button is unavailable
You may have viewing access without editing access, or the record may be locked by its lifecycle. Published quote revisions and client decisions are examples of records that are not ordinary drafts.
Review the explanatory text beside the control. Ask an owner or admin for the access needed for your job rather than trying the action from another person’s account.
A save or action did not finish
Wait for the result and read any validation message. Check required fields. If the result is uncertain, reopen the record to see whether the change saved before repeating it.
For a conflict, preserve useful unsaved text and reload the latest record. Review what another person changed before applying your update. For sending or calendar actions, check the external result before retrying to avoid duplicates.
Ask for help with useful context
- Describe the page, intended action, approximate time, and what happened instead.
- Include the wording of a safe on-screen error and whether refreshing changed the result.
- For screenshots, hide customer details, private links, financial data, and sign-in information that are not needed.
- For an AI connection, use Copy support summary from Connection help.
- Never include passwords, keys, or sign-in codes.
