Create a client report

Turn selected ad results into a reviewed report with a clear story for your client.

Prepare the source data

You need report editing access, a saved client, and available ad results for an account linked to that client. Check the account, reporting period, time zone, and metric availability before generating a report.

A report is a saved view of the selected results. A later refresh in Ads manager does not mean an already saved or shared report has changed.

Generate and review a draft

  1. Open Reports and select New report.
  2. Under Accounts & dates, choose the Client, then select the linked Ad accounts to include. Choose up to ten accounts using the same currency; currency conversion is not supported. Set Start date and End date for the whole report.
  3. In each account’s section, select its campaigns and metrics. For more than one account, also choose the Combined performance metrics.
  4. Check YOUR REPORT for the accounts, dates, comparison period, and each account’s selections. Select Generate report, then review the saved preview.
  5. Check totals, campaign coverage, missing values, and comparison context. Add your explanation and next steps using the notes editor on the last page.
  6. Save your changes. Reopen the report and verify the version and period before downloading or sharing.

Choose the right campaigns

Each account has its own campaign search and filters. Active campaigns only uses current campaign status. Campaigns with spend includes campaigns with positive spend during your selected dates, even if they are paused now. These are alternative filters; selecting one clears the other.

Select all shown applies to the displayed campaigns. Search hides rows without removing eligible campaigns you already selected. Check the selected count before generating; each account needs at least one campaign and metric.

Choose what each slide shows

Choose metrics separately for each ad account. A report with more than one account also has a separate Combined selection. Review the saved preview and PDF before sharing.

Make the report useful

Explain what changed, why it matters, and the next action you recommend. Separate measured results from your interpretation. If a source is unavailable, say what could not be checked rather than filling the gap with a guessed number.

Use Edit report for available report changes and Download PDF to inspect the document your client will read. Saving a report does not send it.

If you cannot generate a report

Add a client first if New report is unavailable because there are no clients. If an ad account is missing, check its connection and client link. Resolve unavailable source data before claiming the report covers the complete period.

If an account cannot be prepared, reload its campaigns or remove it from the selection and try again. Review the resulting account coverage before sharing.

If a report save needs confirmation, use Retry report save to recover that same save. It remains available after reloading the same browser tab. Do not generate another report while the result is uncertain. Before choosing Stop retrying, check Saved reports; stopping recovery does not delete a report that already saved.

If another person has edited the report, reload its latest version before making further changes. Do not overwrite reviewed notes from an older preview.
